Special Event Rules
Every tank commander dreams of becoming an ace, and at Tanks-Giving, you’ll have the opportunity to turn your crew into battlefield legends!
Throughout the battle, players earn special crew upgrades by destroying enemy tanks. These upgrades grant powerful, one-time abilities that can turn the tide of battle.
How Tank Aces Work
For every 2 enemy tanks destroyed by your force, you earn 1 Crew Upgrade that can be assigned to any friendly tank currently on the battlefield.
1. Choose a Tank: Select any surviving friendly tank to receive the upgrade.
2. Roll a D3: Determine the crew member receiving the upgrade.
| D3 Roll | Upgraded Crew Member |
|---|---|
| 1 | Driver |
| 2 | Gunner |
| 3 | Commander |
3. Roll a D6: Consult the corresponding crew skill table to determine which ability your tank receives.
| D6 Roll | Driver Skill | Driver Effect |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Quick Reflexes | When targeted by an attack, make an escape move as though the vehicle had Recce. |
| 2 | Lead Foot | When given a Run or Advance order, gain an additional 6″ of movement. |
| 3 | Crank Head | When given a Run or Advance order, make one additional turn of up to 90° during movement. |
| 4 | Eye for Terrain | After ending a move at least 12″ from all enemy units and in cover from them, the vehicle becomes Hidden. |
| 5 | Push Through | When given a Down order for any reason, change it to Advance instead, even if the vehicle has already activated. Pinned vehicles must take an order test as normal. |
| 6 | Bulldozer | When given a Run order, assault another vehicle without an order test, even while pinned. Automatically roll a 6 for the resulting assault. |
| D6 Roll | Gunner Skill | Gunner Effect |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Deadeye | Before rolling to hit, add +1 to a single shot’s hit modifier. Natural rolls of 1 still miss. |
| 2 | Snap Shooter | After a target attempts to react, prevent that reaction, including Recce. |
| 3 | Hair Trigger | After completing a Run move, the vehicle may shoot. |
| 4 | Adrenalin Rush | After firing the main gun, fire it a second time at the same target during that turn. |
| 5 | Skill Shot | When given a Fire order, increase the main gun’s Pen value by D3, including HE. |
| 6 | Long Shot | Before selecting a target, double the range of the vehicle’s main gun. |
| D6 Roll | Commander Skill | Commander Effect |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Lucky | Before an enemy rolls on the vehicle damage chart, cancel the roll and all further adverse effects from that hit. |
| 2 | Strict Discipline | Before giving the vehicle an order, remove all its pin markers. |
| 3 | Eagle Eye | When targeted by a ranged attack or assault, immediately react by firing one weapon with LOS to the attacker, provided the vehicle can see the attacker. |
| 4 | Motivational Leader | When giving an order, restore one previously used Driver or Gunner skill for another use. If you have neither, re-roll on the Commander table instead. |
| 5 | Battle Awareness | After an enemy completes a Run activation, immediately issue a Run order to this vehicle, even if it has already acted that turn. |
| 6 | Follow Me! | Before giving a Run or Advance order, select a friendly vehicle within 12″ and LOS. If that vehicle has a Down order die, return it to the dice cup. |
4. Use Your Skill: Each upgrade grants a one-time ability that may be activated at the timing specified in its description.
Additional Rules
- Force-Wide Kill Tracking: Kills are counted across your entire force, not individual tanks. Every 2 enemy tanks destroyed earns another Crew Upgrade.
- Duplicate Skills Allowed: A tank may receive the same skill multiple times. Each copy counts as a separate upgrade and may be used once.
- Multiple Upgrades: A single tank may accumulate any number of crew upgrades throughout the battle.
- One-Time Use: Each copy of a skill can only be activated once, unless another ability specifically allows it to be used again.
- Destroyed Tanks: Any unused crew skills assigned to a tank are permanently lost when that tank is destroyed. They cannot be transferred to another vehicle.
- Immediate Rewards: Crew Upgrades are earned as soon as your force destroys its second enemy tank, and again at every additional 2 kills.
